Up to: Quick math and science observations

things i've figured out:

humans are 90% similar to bacteria... 95% similar to rabbits, 99% similar to apes. ok. but we are 50% similar to our moms, 50% to our dads. are we more similar to an ape than to our father? what's the deal?

simple: 50% of the DNA that can be different is our dad's... most of our parents' DNA is the same. our noses, eyes, etc. function the same way. just the little things, like the color and shape, those can be determines. thus, of the percent that can change (let's say it is 1%, half of that is our mom, and half is our dad). am i on the ball?
