observations:
pointing straight up will give low granularity ... rough estimate to about 5-10 feet.
pointint straight, using laptop ... better estimate? tradeoff ... not know which direction they are pointing. tell them to point towards front of cs building.
tradeoff -- accuracy with the amount of time spent encoding/measuring.
