Kalid's Math and Science Pages

Update archives...

10/13/02 - I've put up some articles about information security. Also, want to know what rhymes with orange?

8/28/02 - I had some nice revelations about electricity and the nature of condunction/resistance. What a strange thing to say.

4/26/02 - Updated site layout a bit. Hopefully it makes things easier to find.

4/24/02 - My independent work... works! =). Read about it here.

4/4/02 - Two new articles (COS423, COS461) and a template change.

3/25/02 - Wow. 3 years already. Thanks for the emails you all are sending. I'm adding more computer-science related things, because of my classes. I won't forget about the math, though =).

11/2/01 - I am adding a lot of articles about functions, derivatives, etc. I'm also going to include a tips-and-tricks type page where I add a few lines about a subject when I have a revelation (and don't have the time for a full article).

10/12/01 - Balance sheet article added. Updated About page. 2 new wallpapers in downloads.

9/27/01 - I've restructured the site. The articles will be more concise and reflect the everyday insights that I've been having. I will spend some time on more complex topics, breaking them into sections (computers/logic gates, electromagnetism, and more vector calculus). Test.

8/04/01 Procrastination is bad. Well, it's not all bad; I spent a lot of time reading, so I have a lot of new articles to put up. Thanks to everyone who's sent me email -- I'm happy that people are finding this site useful. I just had a revelation about graphs, check it out. An intuitive derivation of the curl formula is on the way.

5/24/01 I just finished my last final. I am immersing myself in electrical engineering, trying to understand as many circuits as I can and come up with an intuitive way to explain electricity. Studying for finals gave me a few insights, I'll post them.

5/23/01 Finals are coming along. I put up a few new links, look at Princeton's Online Lectures. Check out the Feb. 15, 2001 lecture on robots.

4/20/01 I am converting my original articles into the new, more clean format, as well as trying to make this site relatively browser-independent. I need to focus more on the intuition rather than trying to create tutorials for the subjects; there are enough out there on the web. I'm going to write articles about the intuition and problems I had in understanding.

3/27/01 I didn't realize how poorly these pages were appearing. I tried using fonts that no one had (Adabi MT Condensed Light...ever hear of it?). I've scrapped that and am using the verdana/arial/helvetica combo. The articles are being updated.

3/19/01 I don't know where the time goes. I have realized that I just need to put up as much stuff as I can, I can revise it later. If I wait to polish it, it will never get done. I have tried to simplify the site and make it more readable and consistent, using templates and stylesheets and the like. I hope everyone's browser can handle it :). Check out the redone articles in the Resources section. I also put up my speedreading program and a few wallpapers in the download section.

8/25/00 It's been a long time, been a long time, been a long... :) The articles are a comin'.

5/11/00 I took my math final yesterday and I can update the page. I put up my satellite image portfolio from one of my classes online [portfolio taken offline so I can reduce the image sizes].

4/17/00 I haven't updated the page in a while, and now I'm coming back to it. New articles will appear in the resources section as we cover the topics in class (and I get time to write them). New humor will appear as strange things continue to happen to me. Hey, what's up? I'm not done making the page but will continually update it when I get time. I've spent a lot of time overhauling this site. I fear that FrontPage has driven me to the brink of insanity. Check out the resources and humor sections for some articles. Email me if you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see put up. My friend Juju just has given me some great links that I've put up including The Simpsons Archive. Take care guys, -Kalid
