The theory: Most people pronounce
words (subvocalize) when reading. This is an old habit from when we first
learned to read.
This limits our reading speed to our speaking speed - not a good thing. By flashing words more quickly than we can say them, we stop trying to say the words. Our brain sits back and just "sees" them. Funny enough, you can still understand the words even though you don't say them. The goal is to find a speed that breaks you of the subvocalizing habit, and lets you take in words as raw concepts and ideas, not sounds. That's the theory, anyway (I'm still working on it :)
About: This is still a work in progress and rough around the edges. let me know of features you'd like to see.
